THE EFFECT OF DIGITALPAYMENT SYSTEMS ON CONSUMER BEHAVIOR: AN EMPIRICAL STUDY IN KANPUR CITY

Abstract
A digital payment Systems in India has gained popularity. It is an attempt to move towards cashless economy by minimizing the use of cash physically. The shift to digital payment system resulted in transaction transparency, which strengthens the country's economy. Many developments have been done in the digital payment systems, such as the digital wallets, UPI, etc. to facilitate the transition to digital payment system. This study used primary data collected from 100 respondents by well-structured questionnaire method. The study is analyzed using Chi-Square tests to highlight the association between the usage of digital payments, frequency of usage and the purpose of using digital payment methods. The result presented positive impact of digital payments on consumer behavior. The results highlights the growing significance of digital payment systems in driving India’s transition toward a cashless economy.
