Abstract

This paper examines the prevalence of Mental health challenges and availability of Support systems among Juvenile delinquents in observational homes. These young offenders are highly vulnerable to psychological issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma-related issues, substance use and disruptive behavioural disorders. In most of the cases these conditions often go undiagnosed or untreated, due to which they face severe challenges during their rehabilitation and reintegration into society. The study also emphasizes that although a large number of juveniles exhibit psychological needs, the provision of care is constrained by limited resources, shortages of trained staffs and systematic shortcomings. Overall, the study advocates for a multi-pronged strategy combining early detection of mental health issues, comprehensive treatments and collaborative support that involves probation officers, psychologists, their families, school, and community networks. Enhancing mental health services in correctional facilities will lower recidivism and foster resilience among juvenile delinquents.
