Abstract
South Asia is a region rich in diversity, resources, and potential, yet burdened by underutilized economic capabilities and energy insecurity. This paper explores the untapped potential of regional cooperation in trade and energy, analyzing how integration in these domains can enhance socio-economic development, political stability, and regional peace. Drawing upon the disciplines of commerce and political science, the study evaluates trade trends, investment flows, cross-border energy projects, and policy challenges in the region. It highlights the role of political will, regional institutions like SAARC and BIMSTEC, and bilateral partnerships in advancing cooperation. The paper concludes with policy recommendations for harnessing collective potential and creating a mutually beneficial regional framework.
