A Study of Self-Actualization among Students Studying in Academic Programs of Higher Education

Abstract

In Today’s era, Self-Actualization is the key to building a happier world because it is the ongoing maturational process of becoming one’s authentic self. Self-actualization means people are growing and evolving. The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 emphasizes self-actualization as a key goal of education by fostering holistic development, lifelong learning, and creativity (NEP, 2020). This paper aims to study the level of Self-actualization among students of different disciplines of Academic programs and to compare Self-actualization among students of different disciplines of Academic programs. A descriptive survey method was used. The sample comprised 354 students of Academic programs. A Standardized tool was used to gather the data. Descriptive Statistical Techniques (Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation, and Graphical Representation) and Inferential Statistical Technique (t-test) were used to analyze the data. The study reveals that most students studying in academic programs of different disciplines have Low level of Self-Actualization that is 26% then of High Self-Actualization that is 15%, which is very less as compared to low self-actualization and there is no significant difference in the Self-actualization among students studying in different disciplines of academic programs.
