Abstract

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into contemporary educational environments presents a transformative shift, offering unparalleled opportunities for personalized learning, enhanced academic outcomes, and streamlined administrative efficiency. However, this rapid adoption is accompanied by profound concerns regarding student over-reliance on technology, the erosion of independent problem-solving skills, and escalating threats to academic integrity. This paper systematically explores the dual nature of AI in education, emphasizing the urgent need to balance technological benefits with robust safeguards against cognitive offloading and ethical breaches. We propose a comprehensive pedagogical framework that intentionally incorporates uncertainty into AI interactions, thereby forcing students to engage deeply with the material rather than passively accepting machine-generated answers. By analyzing the intersection of cognitive agency, ethical transparency, and structured assessment, this study provides actionable methodologies for optimizing AI's role in teaching and learning while preserving essential human critical thinking capacities.
