MODERN FARMING TECHNIQUES IN INDIA – A MICRO STUDY
Author : Dr. Dinesh Kumar
Abstract
The agriculture sector, like all other sectors, experiences multiple technical breakthroughs on a regular basis, and farmers are expected to incorporate these advancements in order to boost crop yields and stay current in order to meet any form of competition or contingencies. A lot has been done in the agricultural industry to improve cultivation, yet Indian farmers continue to use old methods. Farming is still not considered a reliable source of income in India. Smart farming is critical to increasing the profitability and sustainability of Indian agriculture. Without the adoption of clever and high-tech farming practices, the farmer breed will soon become extinct. Though agropreneurs have begun to take baby moves in India toward smart farming, it remains a silent revolution in comparison to other nations due to a lack of awareness and confidence. In this research, a survey was conducted to identify farmers' preferences for new agricultural technologies in the Eastern Uttar Pradesh area. At the same time, farmers have been asked about the restrictions and challenges they encounter in the traditional farming system. During the survey for this study, farmers were also informed about how innovative modern agricultural practices double crop yield, which is not only beneficial for meeting domestic needs but can also be exported globally, increasing the country's GDP, which could be economically significant.
