Abstract
This research paper examines India’s trajectory from launching the Make in India initiative and related reforms to its long-term vision of becoming a global economic powerhouse by 2047 — the centenary of Indian independence. It explores the evolution of India’s commerce, trade, and industrial sectors; assesses policy frameworks and achievements; analyzes critical challenges; and outlines strategic pathways for future growth. It also evaluates India’s potential to integrate into global value chains and become a key node in international commerce.
