Abstract

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is instigating a profound transformation in the realm of professional services, especially within the Chartered Accountancy sector in India. This study examines the impact of AI adoption on the efficiency and effectiveness of Chartered Accountants, its influence on client business outcomes, and its contribution to the overarching national vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047. A structured questionnaire was used to gather primary data from 155 practicing Chartered Accountants across Western Uttar Pradesh, India as part of a quantitative research study. We used SPSS and Smart PLS to look at the data for reliability, validity, and hypothesized relationships. The results show that all of the constructs are very consistent with each other, with Cronbach's Alpha values between 0.83 and 0.98. This shows that the measurement model is reliable. Structural model analysis shows that using AI has a big positive effect on the work efficiency and effectiveness of Chartered Accountants (β = 0.62, p < 0.001). AI-enabled Chartered Accountancy services substantially impact client business expansion and revenue growth (β = 0.59, p < 0.001), underscoring the value-creation function of AI-driven professional services. The research indicates that enhanced professional efficiency significantly advances national development objectives in accordance with Viksit Bharat @ 2047 (β = 0.67, p < 0.001), elucidating a considerable portion of the variance in perceptions of economic development (R² = 0.45). This study empirically integrates professional efficiency, client outcomes, and national development perspectives, thereby advancing the literature on AI in accounting and illustrating that AI adoption allows Chartered Accountants to transition from compliance-oriented roles to intelligence-driven advisory practices. The results show how important AI-enabled professional transformation is for India's long-term economic vision and for improving client performance.
