Abstract
The objective of social development is to include basic values like social justice, equality and harmony. But today the country’s progress is stuck in the vicious cycle of discrimination based on gender and social differences, poverty, and illiteracy. According to the world Economic Forum’s Global Gender Gap report 118th out of 130 countries in terms of gender inequality both in villages and cities. Economic inequality, gender and caste discrimination are major obstacles to education in the country. In Uttar Pradesh, which has many power centers, girls are worshipped as Devi at Navratri festivals but parents do not send their daughters to schools. About 54% of girls are denied school admission due to biased attitudes. Only 45% of women in the total female population are literate in the education sector. No special effort is seen in the women empowerment campaign. Real change will not come unless women are educated. The patriarchal image of India will only change when women are educated. Today’s conservative society is burdened with regressive and discriminatory ideas. Women empowerment can be complete only when women are free from unemployment, insecurity, insufficient food, and family worries. They should have some rest time for themselves and be physically safe. Indian society has unjust inequalities. The first effort today should be to eliminate this discrimination.
