Author : Ms. Kausar
Abstract
Digital technologies have significantly changed how feminist movements strategize and gain visibility. Social media, online networks, and digital campaigns offer unique chances for marginalized voices to join mainstream conversations, create solidarity, and shape institutional agendas. This paper looks at how feminist activism has changed in the digital era, highlighting how online spaces open new avenues for mobilization while also repeating patterns of inequality and exclusion. By discussing theories about counterpublics, intersectionality, and platform governance, along with examples like #MeToo, #NiUnaMenos, and trans-rights movements, the study outlines both the successes and challenges of digital feminist strategies. It points out that even though online activism boosts feminist voices and fosters global connections, it faces issues like harassment, algorithm bias, and the digital divide. The conclusion stresses the importance of combining online and offline feminist practices that focus on inclusive strategies and advocate for reforms in platform governance and public policy.
